I am a Lecturer in the English department at UCLA. My research and teaching interests include food studies, eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Anglophone literature, gender and sexuality studies, and the interspecies friendship between Samuel Johnson and his cat, Hodge. I also write speculative fiction. Currently, I am working on my first novel, which is about an anxious eighteenth-century witch.
